Answer · Aniimo

Will Aniimo be on PS5?

Yes

Yes. Aniimo launches on PlayStation 5 on 16 September 2026 at 10:00 UTC+8, simultaneously with PC, Xbox Series X|S, iOS and Android. It is free-to-play, so no purchase is required, and it supports cross-play and cross-progression with every other platform through one account.

Anything reading TBD is unpublished by Pawprint Studio, not merely unknown to us. This site does not fill those gaps with estimates — the editorial policy explains why.

PlayStation 5 is a confirmed launch platform

Aniimo is not a mobile game getting a console port later. PlayStation 5 is on the announced launch platform list alongside Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store, plus iOS and Android — and all of them go live at the same moment, 16 September 2026 at 10:00 UTC+8.

That simultaneity is the part worth noticing. Most creature-collection gacha titles ship mobile-first and treat console as a follow-up that may never arrive. Aniimo treats PS5 as a day-one platform, which is why the question gets asked so often and why the answer is unusually clean.

What it costs on PS5

Nothing. Aniimo is free-to-play with gacha monetisation, so the PlayStation Store entry is a free download rather than a purchase. Two optional pre-order packs exist — an Advanced Edition at $9.99 and a Collector's Edition at $19.99 — but both are additive bundles, not access tiers. Skipping them costs you cosmetics and starter materials, not entry to the game.

Cross-play and cross-progression both work

Cross-play is confirmed between every launch platform, and friend lists work across them. Cross-progression runs on a single unified account identity, which means a save started on PS5 continues on a phone and comes back to the console untouched.

For a game built around collecting 224 Aniilog entries, that matters more than it does in most genres: the grind is long enough that being locked to the room your console is in would be a real constraint. The full cross-progression breakdown covers what the unified account does and does not carry.

What is still unconfirmed for PS5 specifically

Three things this site will not guess at:

  • PlayStation 4. Only PS5 appears on the announced list. A PS4 version has not been ruled out in public, but it has not been announced either, so it reads as TBD rather than "no".
  • PlayStation Plus. No statement covers whether the multiplayer modes need an active subscription. Free-to-play titles on PlayStation commonly waive that requirement, but that is a convention across the platform, not a confirmation about this game — and the difference matters if you are budgeting.
  • Download size and pre-load window. Neither is published. Both usually land a few days before release on the store page itself.

Each of those is marked TBD above and will be filled in with a source when it is confirmed, not before.

Is Aniimo coming to PS4?

TBD. Only PlayStation 5 appears on the announced platform list. Pawprint Studio has not ruled a PS4 version out publicly, but it has not announced one either, so treat it as unannounced rather than cancelled.

Do you need PS Plus to play Aniimo?

TBD — no statement has been published. Free-to-play games on PlayStation commonly do not require PS Plus for online play, but that is a platform-wide convention rather than a confirmation about Aniimo specifically.

Can PS5 players play with PC and mobile players?

Yes. Cross-play is confirmed between PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and mobile, and friend lists work across all of them.

Is Aniimo free on PS5?

Yes. It is free-to-play with gacha monetisation. The two pre-order packs, at $9.99 and $19.99, are optional bundles rather than a price of entry.
